Overview
Some QuickBooks lists have multiple levels (up to a total of 5), which are separated by a colon e.g. Account:SubAccount1:SubAccount2.
Creating reports that group jobs, customers, accounts, or items can be difficult because it involves linking together parent names, determining levels, etc. - and would be near impossible in a pivot table.
The QQube technology provides special grouping mechanisms that remove the complexity of replicating the same grouping operations that QuickBooks provides in its reports.
Item Groupings
Using the following example ITEM_A : SUBITEM_B : SUBITEM_C : SUBITEM_D : SUBITEM_E
- Item Name - Hierarchy Level 1 returns ITEM_A
- Item Name - Hierarchy Level 2 returns SUBITEM_B
- Item Name - Hierarchy Level 3 returns SUBITEM_C
- Item Name - Hierarchy Level 4 returns SUBITEM_D
- Item Name - Hierarchy Level 5 returns SUBITEM_E
Job Groupings
Using the following example CUSTOMER : SUBJOB_A : SUBJOB_B : SUBJOB_C : SUBJOB_D
- Job Name - Hierarchy Level 1 returns CUSTOMER
- Job Name - Hierarchy Level 2 returns SUBJOB_A
- Job Name - Hierarchy Level 3 returns SUBJOB_B
- Job Name - Hierarchy Level 4 returns SUBJOB_C
- Job Name - Hierarchy Level 5 returns SUBJOB_D
Class Groupings
Using the following example CLASS : SUBCLASS_A : SUBCLASS_B : SUBCLASS_C : SUBCLASS_D
- Class Name - Hierarchy Level 1 returns CLASS
- Class Name - Hierarchy Level 2 returns SUBCLASS_A
- Class Name - Hierarchy Level 3 returns SUBCLASS_B
- Class Name - Hierarchy Level 4 returns SUBCLASS_C
- Class Name - Hierarchy Level 5 returns SUBCLASS_D
Account Groupings
Account Groupings act similarly to Item and Job Groupings with 5 possible levels. QQube adds additional options to group by:
- Account Description Only
- Account NAME
- Account DESCRIPTION
- Account NAME/DESCRIPTION
- Account NUMBER
- Account NUMBER/NAME (Similar to QuickBooks reports with Dot in Middle)
