Billing vs Shipping Address

Overview

Address information can be used to analyze QuickBooks data by geographic region, whether the reporting scope is local, national, or global.

Combining billing and shipping address fields

A QuickBooks transaction, such as an invoice, may contain a billing address but no shipping address. This can create missing values when a report is grouped or filtered by a shipping field, such as shipping state.

QQube addresses this issue through the Ship OR Bill fields. When a shipping address is available, QQube uses it. When the shipping address is missing, QQube substitutes the billing address.

Where these fields are available

The Ship OR Bill address fields are available in the following QQube data models:

  • Sales
  • Open Sales Orders
  • Accounts Receivable

Expected result

Reports that use the Ship OR Bill fields retain a usable geographic value when the shipping address is blank, reducing gaps in regional analysis.
